This is one of the best, and thus most popular, fine-dining Indian restaurants in the city. The setting is elegant, intimate and peaceful, with its Indian prints, white linens and calm, exotic music. If you know that the restaurant's name refers to the clay, tandoor ovens often used in Indian cooking, you will expect some tandoori specialties on the menu. There are, in fact, eleven such options, ranging from the standard chicken to the more exotic mahi-mahi fish. The breads, which are also baked in the oven, are delightfully fresh. An extensive lunchtime buffet is offered here.
