Stark walls landscaped with a plethora of photos distinguish this popular place in Lakeview. The bustling Mia Francesca resides in an old candy store and is one of the city's most authentic Italian restaurants. The menu changes daily, but you might find roasted salmon with sea scallops or selections of veal, chicken and sea bass. Pasta dishes dominate the entrees. The spinach ravioli is a crowd pleaser. Simple desserts complete the meal. Reservations are not accepted, and you can usually count on a wait, but the antique bar is a good place to settle in and pass the time.
