Perched on an out-of-the-way corner in Wrigleyville, the Outpost is decorated in a South Pacific trade motif, based on the travels of the China Clipper. Exposed brick and ductwork, wooden floors and a tin ceiling engage diners who sample steaks and seafood (all cooked with an Asian accent), pizzas, risotto and duck dishes. A wide-ranging and impressive wine list is nonetheless affordable, as are most of the entrees. Still not widely known outside of the neighborhood, this restaurant offers a premium dining experience at a less than premium cost.
