This basement-level restaurant in Beacon Hill is completely intimate and charming. Hungry I is small but cozy with a romantic feel. Three working fireplaces and simple decor give the feeling of sanctuary from the city outside. The short menu is partnered with a daily list of specials. Traditional French gourmet food is the emphasis here. House specialties include Venison au Pouvre, filet mignon with pancetta and rabbit cooked in a crock. The restaurant has a full service bar.

This is my other favorite restaurant in the Boston area (besides Tupelo). Like Tupelo, the staff here is fantastic. Chef Peter is a riot, so down to earth,...
If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a dump - looking around I noticed it was absolutely filthy, that explains the low lights. Seriously...

“Marginal”
Very nice atmosphere in their cute outdoor patio area. However, the food was unremarkable - not terrible but comparable to college dining hall ...
Cute restaurant, disappointing food and service.
The description that this is "modern French" food is far off the mark. Our experience was far from modern (or good). I have to echo...

Hair in a plate
We had the most horrible dinner you can imagine. From a first look menu was fine, even overpriced. I wanted to try Hungry I because of its reviews.

Modern French restaurant's stately Charles Street environs are among the Boston's most romantic.
Located in the heart of Beacon Hill, the Hungry I's subterranean dining room's exposed brick walls and classical accoutrements (oil
