This Stillwater landmark has been a dining tradition for more than 70 years. Fortunately, the lackluster menus of the last decade have been spiced up while still retaining the old favorites. Each room has a different menu under Chef Mitch Omer. The George Washington Room features white linens, fine china, crystal and silver service. The Matterhorn room sports a Swiss motif. The fondue (USD60 per person in the Matterhorn) includes appetizers, sherry and Grapes Devonshire for dessert. For the uninitiated, it consists of raw prime beef and coconut-crusted shrimp, which you skewer on a long stick and cook in hot oil at your table. Two bottles of wine are included with this dining experience. In the George Washington room, meals range from USD28-USD35, and include sides of mashed potatoes, vegetables, soup, salad and fruit. Entrees include roast duck breast and pan-fried walleye. For lunch, hot sandwiches, pasta and salads are the rule.
