Just an hour south of the Twin Cities is this casino operated by the Prairie Island Indian Community. It is themed as a tropical paradise, which suits Minnesotans just fine. An expansion nearly doubled the amount of gaming space. The casino is split into several different venues: Fishermans Wharf, Tropical Rain Forest, Caribbean Village, Caribbean Marketplace and Casino 7. Altogether they boast 2,400 state-of-the-art slot machines, 64 blackjack tables, video poker, video craps, video keno and bingo. There is also the Island Pearl Gift Shop, a 1,000 seat auditorium (Indigo Bay), and a childcare facility. Meal options include Tradewinds Buffet, Mongo Bay Snack Bar and Java's Restaurant. Check the website for more details and directions.
