The festival begins with the launching of balloons at certain schools in the city and in Rio Ranch. Various events are held each day at various venues. There are races, choreographed balloon shows, co-ordinated mass ballooning shows, fireworks, wine tasting, magic shows and more. Events begin early in the morning, so make sure to catch sufficient sleep at night if you want to see these giant colorful balloons rise up in the air.
