Badlands Golf Club, the epitome of a target desert golf course, sits amid the natural desert habitat. Designed by Johnny Miller with consultation from Chi Chi Rodriguez, the course features spectacular terrain and breathtaking views. This resort has three nine hole courses - Desperado, Diablo and Outlaw - that can be played in three eighteen hole combinations. With four sets of tees to choose from, the Badlands offer an exciting challenge to the casual golfer as well as the experienced player. The original Desperado/Diablo Course is a desert-style layout that puts a premium on placement shots. Only ninety-five acres on this course are planted with grass. There are many grass and sand bunkers incorporated into the course's design, but very few trees. The main focus of the design centers on the natural scenery of the desert. The fairways afford generous landing areas, if you choose the right club. Generally the greens are medium-sized, but some of them are small. Each hole has its own unique characteristic. To quote the local pro, "Every hole is a signature hole".
