The Liberty Science Center stimulates learning and enhances the mind's natural state of thinking. The LSC has eight thematic exhibition areas that cover topics such as evolution, infectious disease and skyscrapers. The Hudson River Basin exhibit gives attendants a "live interaction" with the environment by using wireless cameras that roam the river floor. Extreme weather is explored during an overnight "camp-in" including a virtual experience in the nation's largest IMAX® Dome Theater. Rutgers University scientists visit LSC each Saturday and offer classes on topics regarding the earth's oceans (ranging from microscopic organisms to the ever-changing climate). In partnership with New Jersey hospitals, LSC provides programs allowing students to witness major medical procedures as they are being performed. The Liberty Science Center also has a top-notch event space for private events, with upscale catering and views overlooking the Manhattan Skyline.
