An area landmark since 1948, this cute country restaurant features home-cooking at reasonable prices. It's known affectionately by locals as the "pig restaurant" because of the hundreds of pig-themed knickknacks that adorn the walls. Daily specials include breaded pork chops on Monday, chicken and biscuits on Tuesday, pasta on Wednesday, liver and onions and pot roast on Thursday, haddock on Friday, roast turkey and pork on Saturday and omelets, crepes, waffles, and more on Sunday. The menu features home-made soup and chili, sandwiches, and classic dinners like country fried steak and homemade meatloaf. Breakfast is served all day , and the desserts are homemade. Of special note is their L.A. cinnamon toast. Their new division, Piggy’s Pizza, features pizza, wings and more. - Christine A. Smyczynski
