This well-known Italian restaurant is operated by the third generation of the DeFlippo family and was originally built as a house by carriage-makers Brown and Bronson in the 1870s. Open as a restaurant since 1946, they offer an extensive selection of Italian specialties like chicken parmigiana, baked lasagna, a long list of pastas, and spaghetti with chicken in the sauce, a DeFlippos' original. The menu also features seafood dishes, steaks, grilled chicken and prime rib, as well as more easy-going fare such as pizza, wings, finger foods and sandwiches. They've also prepared a children's menu. Desserts, prepared from scratch by pastry chef Nancy DeFlippo, include tiramisu, cream puffs, cannoli, carrot cake and cheesecake. - Christine A. Smyczynski
