This restaurant was the last word in elegance during the "cocktail years" of the 1960s, but is now occasionally, and mistakenly, overlooked. Featuring table settings with pale linens and intimate booths, it is a short walk from Downtown Portland/City Center hot spots. The fare is perfect for the Northwest purist, with dishes such as a steaming plate of linguini and mussels, or braised Alaskan halibut in olive oil and wine served with garlic-mashed potatoes. The menu changes seasonally. The wine list offers elegant choices, and the staff is charming and attentive.
