If it is fresh seafood you are craving this is the place in Newport for you. Have an order of steamers at the fully stocked bar while you wait for your table and peruse the enormous chalkboard menu. Scales and Shells prides itself on serving the freshest fish. The wait staff is honest about what is fresh on the menu and will happily honor your request to grill, sear, steam or stuff the fish of your choice. Even the locals proudly wear the restaurant T-shirts, which are for sale at the bar. Reservations are not accepted.
