The Gullah Celebration fills several weeks with interesting and exciting activities to entertain and enlighten participants. An art exhibit, which showcases the work of Gullah artists, runs throughout the celebration. Other events include a National Freedom Day celebration, Gospel concert, arts, crafts and food expo, youth talent show and an "Old Fashioned Gullah Barbecue." This wonderful festival will have you humming West African tunes and craving the unique flavors of Gullah cuisine. If you're lucky, you'll go home with a one-of-a-kind sweetgrass basket. Admission varies by event.
