St. Thomas' Carnival Parade explodes with color and sound. Gaily dressed troupes follow equally colorful floats through the streets of Charlotte Amalie for this annual event. The best viewing is from the sidewalk in front of the Dronningens Gade shops. This is an all-day event so come prepared with sunscreen, water, an umbrella in case of rain and earplugs if you are sensitive to loud music. If you wilt under the tropical sun, watch the last of it on the television in your hotel room. There is no admission charge.
