Salomon Beach, Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands

If you are up for a 20-minute walk, Salomon Beach is accessible by foot from Cruz Bay. This is the closest swimming beach to the island's main town. The hike leaves from behind the Virgin Islands National Park Visitors Center, heads up hill and down dale until you reach a white sandy beach with excellent snorkeling. There are no facilities, so bring water to refresh yourself on your hike back to Cruz Bay. A spur trail to Lind Point takes you to lovely vistas of Cruz Bay Harbor. There is no admission charge.
