A beautifully restored, attractively appointed farm restaurant in a Cape Dutch House situated on Spier Wine Estate, this winelands resort is well worth visiting. Jonkershuis is decorated with rich wood, warm colours and attractive paintings, creating a welcoming atmosphere. A vast spread of starters on a central buffet table is so tempting and abundant that many forget to allow room for the hot selection, simmering gently in a bain-marie nearby. One can sample from a wide range of Cape fare, from snoek and pumpkin fritters to classic bobotie, Cape malay curries and divine puddings. The extensive wine list covers the best of every range.
