WE CALLED THE HOTEL 2 DAYS BEFORE WE LEFT AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL WITH THE MANAGER THAT WE WERE CELEBRATING OUR 25TH ANNIV. AND WONDERED IF THEY COULD DO SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR US. WE ARRIVED AT OUR ROOM WHICH WAS UPGRADED TO A BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEW SUITE. THE NEXT DAY WE CAME BACK AND HAD A BOTTLE OF WINE ON ICE. EVERYONE FROM THE MAIDS , POOL TOWEL PERSONNEL, FRONT DESK, ETC WERE EXTREMELY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. EVERYWHERE WE WENT WAS KEPT CLEAN AND NEAT. WE DIDNT TRY THE RESTAURANTS THERE AS THEY WERE A LITTLE PRICEY FOR US BUT THEY SEEMED TO HAVE A GOOD CUSTOMER BASE. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. WAS OUR BEST GETAWAY EVER.

The Hyatt Regency Aruba is a lovely place in a great location. The landscaping is the best in the high rise area of the island. It's walking distance to a mall, shops, and restaurants. We received a free upgrade to the Regency Floor that has complimentary continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres; which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to stay if you're looking to spend quality time with your spouse/significant other, which is why we were in Aruba. If you're looking for a place with non-stop activity, parties, etc., this is not the place to stay. The only drawback to this hotel, which I read from other guests, is the lack of balconies in the guest rooms; only a few have them.

I managed to only post my tips, not the actual review of hotel! So here goes, if you're desperately seeking an isolated romantic getaway from kids or crowds, then I would not suggest staying here. There are lots of both at the Hyatt, but if you're not, then this is a great place to stay. The standard room is just that, but well designed & newly remodeled and therefore very clean & fresh with bright splashes of color. Having a chaise lounge chair in a standard room was a nice touch. We got a fridge but hardly used it, I think it would definintely make sense for families who may be planning a longer stay. And the bed was fantastic, not quite as good as the "heavenly bed" but at least they're trying. The beach and pools are fun and lots of kids enjoying both so therefore lots of joyful noise. When it got to be too noisy having an iPod helped. Overall this hotel property turned out to be a great value for our .

Just a couple of tips: (1) to get away from the crowd skip the hotel beach and take the local bus to Arashi or Baby beach where you can rent a canopy & chairs for a small fee (2) everything retail, including Oranjestaad downtown shopping areas pretty much shuts down on Sunday so take a snorkel excursion that day instead (Mon & Sun are Red Sail's least busy days) (3) if you ride, take a guided Harley tour for a quick overview of the island (4) I agree with the comment below, get your cocktails/tropical drinks at the casino while you play (5) take the bus everywhere you can, the drivers are helpful (6) if you're a big meat eater skip Le Petit Cafe & try Churrascaria do Brasil (7) if you gamble take the time to tour the different casinos, especially the slightly more upscale one (but small) at the Riu, it feels a tad European. Enjoy!
