Amenities
The elegant Royal Palms Hotel & Restaurant, situated on a tree-lined lane near Hamilton, offers the best of Bermudian hospitality. Your hosts are Richard Smith and Susan Weare, the brother-and-sister team who own and manage the estate. They graciously welcome you to be their guest in one of two pink, turn-of-the-century manor houses or in the estate's quaint, white-roofed cottages. All are nestled in luxuriant, tranquil gardens where you may enjoy the sun from lawn chairs or on the terrace beside a secluded pool. You may wish to relax or chat with other guests on the veranda or in the intimate restaurant lounge. Ascots, one of the Island's finest restaurants, serves lunch and dinner in antique-appointed dining rooms or outdoors where tree frogs serenade at night. Easy walk to Hamilton's shops - entertainment and restaurants.

Boutique Business Hotel or Weekend Getaway
I stayed 4 days while on business but this is a perfect weekend getaway from the US east coast. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the city centre but is itself located in a garden setting off the beaten track. This is not a resort; it is instead a small boutique hotel on the edge of Hamilton so it is close to restaurants etc. Nowhere is very far from anywhere in Bermuda so golf and beaches are easily accessible and the hotel arranged golf for me at Tucker's Point, I never got to the beach. My room was a deluxe mini-suite and it was large and nicely decorated, it had a flat screen tv, ipod player and a good Internet connection. There was a good continental breakfast included in the rate but no hot 'English Breakfast', the restaurant was very good and priced accordingly. The foregoing is all very well but the reason I am writing this review is because the staff seemed genuinely interested in my wellbeing and that my needs were met; as a business traveller I don't often get that sense nor do I often stay at a business hotel that has a real homely atmosphere where I feel comfortable and recognised.
Boutique Business Hotel or Weekend Getaway
My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay early December. Although the hotel does not have the amenities of larger resorts our bedroom was nicer than most we have ever stayed in, being beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is served on a 'summer' patio and their Ascot restaurant was expensive but very good. We would highly recommend this charming little hotel.
We just got back from the Royal Palms and couldn't of been happier with our choice of hotel. The Royal Palms is a quick 10 minute walk outside of downtown Hamilton, but it feels more like a private hideaway. Our room was lovely with a king size bed, flat screen tv, kitchenette and a window seat overlooking the pool. Continental breakfast is served each morning in a lovely open-air room. We almost didn't have dinner at Ascot's, the restaurant on the hotel property, and what a shame that would of been. Their food is hands down some of the best on the island!
We checked out of another hotel and found Royal Palms -Good decision. A small hotel on the edge of Hamilton walking distance of city. Isn't on the beach, nor is there a view of the ocean. We wanted access to restaurants and night life and were prepared to explore so lack of beach wan't an issue. The hotel advised us where to go and what to do each day making reservations and getting transport sorted. The best meal we had in Bermuda was at Ascot the restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was a good continental breakfast no full cooked breakfast.
We booked based on traveller feedback at websites and were not disappointed. This is our perfect weekend getaway. It seemed to us that many of our fellow guests were regulars and we could understand why. Breakfast is a good buffet continental and they don't offer full breakfast but it's included. Staff efficient and friendly, our room was crisp, clean and well furnished and the restaurant is world class.
