STUCK IN BETWEEN
THIS HOTEL WAS OKAY. OUR ROOM WAS OK BUT THE BATHROOM HAD SCUFFS ALL OVER THE WALL. A WATERBUG WAS CRAWLING ON MY LEG. THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIRST AID KIT HANDY. THAT WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTING ....THEN THEY HIT YOU WITH A 10 DOLLAR A DAY FEE WITHOUT WARNING FOR MAID AND ENERGYSERVICE. I WOULD GIVE THIS HOTEL A 2 1/2 TO 3 1/2. THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOOSING.
STUCK IN BETWEEN
When I entered the hotel i was disgusted from the roaches crawling all over the floor. The wall paper was chipping. The pools were green with slime. The water was unthinkable. I rushed myself to the hospital after dehydrating. Im thinking about pressing charges against the hotel. It all depends on how i feel when i get out of this wheel chair from falling in the hotel shower. Thank You
Even the locals keep away!
I had done a lot of research before choosing a hotel to go with and I'm so happy that I decided to go with this hotel. My friend and I were essentially looking for a clean place to sleep and shower with easy access to activities. We had been told to stay on Cable Beach, but upon arriving on island I realized how far from everything Cable Beach was. From the Nassau Palm Hotel we were able to walk to Arawak Cay aka The Fish Fry and downtown. The Fish Fry is a local hotspot where you can get great Bahamian food with the local atmosphere and live music. Downtown Nassau is really where most of the restaurants and shopping is. The straw market is not much to rave about...most fake Gucci purses and crappy t-shirts, but worth looking around to find some authentic crafts like a lot of the wood carvings. Senor Frogs seems to be the happening place to go out, but the whole town is pretty dead when there isn't a cruise ship in port...maybe different during the summer. Ultimately, we were there for a dive trip. We went with Bahama Divers which has a shop on Paradise Island. Paradise Island is also just a short taxi ride and is where Atlantis is. You can tour around Atlantis on your own, but would go during the day since most of the animal exhibits are outside. All in all the island is very expensive..the food, taxi rides (gas is 5.00/gallon), and drinks. However, the people are all very nice everywhere we went. The hotel's service was excellent and the location is very safe. There is a police station in between the hotel and downtown right on the beach so we could walk around at 2 a.m.
STUCK IN BETWEEN
Rooms dirty, rats in mattress, no hot water, elevator dangerous, front dest liars, bar a disgrace and dirty, Reported to Ministery of Tourism. Shut this place down
Even the locals keep away!
I was looking for a decent place to stay and I got in. The reservation desk couldn't find me reservation, but I think that was the travel agency's fault. The room was clean and I had a nice view. The bed was sunken-in in the middle, I would fall into the hole. The pools were kind of dirty with dead bugs floating in them. The hotel is walking distance to everything. The local beaches are pretty dirty along the shore with tires, broken glass and other debris. The hotel staff was friendly overall. The natives are hustlers, always talk to the price down when shopping.
BEST DEAL IN TOWN
I stayed here during the middle of spring break. This meant there were constant drunk people roaming the halls at all hours of the night. I don't think there was one night where I walked to my room where I wasn't whistled at, or hollered at by drunk guys partying in the halls before going out into the town.We had an excellent view of the beach/water from our balcony. The location itself wasn't bad, close to the fish fry, downtown, the straw market, but that's where it ends. The rooms were filthy and the sheets smelled musty. The shower had no fan, which explained the mold growing in the corners. Rooms were also very dusty and had a dark feel to it. Also, my phone didn't work utnil I went down and complained. They sent someone in about 10 minutes, but even then, I could only make outgoing calls, no incoming calls were coming through. My poor friend waited outside for me for 30 minutes before I called her and she said she had been calling for the last half hour, and it never rang! WHen I told them it didn't work, they told me it was fine and there were no problems. Also, I was never told that each outgoing call would be 1. For that, i would've just used the pay phone downstairs! When I told some of my friends fom there where I was staying, they made a face and asked why would I stay there? You know it's bad when the locals make a face at it and keep away! Also the surrounding area didn't feel very safe.
