On the eastern side of the Atlantis Resort, the beachfront Atlantis Beach Tower offers easy access to Atlantis' new Aquaventure, a sprawling waterscape of pools, waterslides, and rivers. The Slide Tower has four waterslides in a 120-foot tower: the Abyss (a 50-foot, near vertical drop ending in an underground lair of prehistoric alligator gars), the Drop (which propels riders up the tower via water jets and then down through the Tower's dark center), the Falls, and the Surge. Aquaventure also houses a mile-long river ride and 11 rock climbing walls. With a focus on conservation and education, Dolphin Cay offers programs for interacting with 20 bottlenose dolphins in their own habitat. Guests can also observe more than 50,000 marine mammals at the Altantis' Marine Habitat. Balinese-inspired treatments are available in the two-story Mandara Spa's 35-treatment rooms. An outdoor marketplace, Marina Village, showcases local culture throughout its 20 shops. Additional recreational facilities include 11 lagoons; 13 swimming areas; the Dig, an underground maze of corridors and viewing tanks containing sea creatures; the Mayan Temple's five waterslides; Turtle Beach, a sanctuary for native turtles; an 8,000-square-foot casino; a two-story nightclub; Sports Center, complete with tennis courts; and plenty of watersports. The property's 20 restaurants and bars range from casual fare to gourmet dining with celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Jean Georges Vongerichten, and Nobu Matsuhisa. The rooms have air-conditioning, satellite TV, sitting areas, balconies, minibars, hairdryers, irons, safes, and dial-up Internet access (fee applies).Check-in is at the Coral Towers. Guests must be 21 years of age and have a valid credit card in the individual's name at time of check-in. Guests under 21 must be with a family or group.

No service, food more expensive than NYC

 by  Becky  on  2007-07-17

The service is non-existent - staff are RUDE and NASTY, and yell at you! Maid service is available "if they get around to it" and stuff won't be replenished in your room. Carefully ck your bill if you buy the meal plan else you'll pay twice; first */day for plan, then again when they sneak in food charges on your bill - happened to all 21 of us!Food is great but 30-50% more than same restaurant in NYC, like Nobu, etc.

This was a top notch vacation. The place was great, service was great. Meals are a bit pricey. The beach and water was the absolute best!

PARADISE

I Love Atlantis! I have gone on many vacations around the carribbean and they have been very beautiful but this was by far the best! When you see pictures of the hotel you may think, "Oh my, that must be expensive!" but it is really not. Me and my family had a great time and my daughter met a friend the first day. There are many pools and there many waterslides. The one big waterslide looks intense, but it is not. I mean really, usually you go on vacation to one place once, so just go for it! Go Atlantis.

Pay through your nose for mediocre experience
