Aquaventure also houses a mile-long river ride and 11 rock climbing walls. With a focus on conservation and education, Dolphin Cay offers interactions with 20 bottlenose dolphins in their own habitat. outrageous food prices
Once you are at the hotel you are basically stuck paying outrageous prices for meals. The breakfasts run * per person and dinners start around * per person. Nassau basically closes down at 6PM so you have no options but to eat at the hotel or at the affiliated restaurants. The hotel was nice and the water activities were good, but for the money there are better places to visit. I won't be going back.

The Atlantis resort is breath taking. The Royal Towers where we stayed was very clean and had fantastic views form the balcony. They have some funky deal where you are charged if the mini bar door is even openned...even if you didn't take anything. Keep the kids away from it. The grounds were spectacular. The variety of fish in the massive tanks is second to none. From the time we arrived until we left, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the pools, lagoons, slides, lazy river, and fantastic weather. My favorite part of the grounds are the beaches. Very clean and safe. Excellent snokeling...great for kids. The food is very good but it is VERY expensive. The Marketplace buffet in the Royal Towers was massive...very tasty but for a family of 4, was just for dinner. Breakfast for 4 was around . There are some other options but you are still spending for what amounts to contenental breakfast. For a week, we spent roughly just on food. That not including cocktails. But it was vacation, on an island, economy stinks everywhere...so I sucked it up and just enjoyed everything. People watching is interesting. Good chance you'll run into celebs. We ran into several NBA and NFL players. We will go back again. I'd go tomorrow if I could.
Not worth the money
My 4th visit, my husband's 1st - he won company sales trip. We were nicely compensated for "non-company" sponsored meals, but restaurant & bar prices were SO overpriced the 450 "Atlantis Cash" lasted 1 1/2 days - it was ridiculous. Too many outside guests use hotel - my 1st trip was nearly 10 yrs ago when it WAS exclusive, but NOTHING has been updated (the 1st nite reception was even the SAME Junkaroo theme w/same props & singers!!!) We had not one, but TWO roaches in our room, yes they were alive. Pool towels were stained and threadbare, EVERY purchase includes automatic 15% gratuity so there's no incentive to provide exceptional service. Every common area has a miniature replica of condos they are hawking and they never stop yelling at you to sign up for the 90-minute presentation. Hotel in general has poor HVAC ventilation and moldy smell. Never enough towels in room considering we were showering at least a couple of times a day. No fishing lines were installed to stop seagulls & pigeons from attacking guests' plates. Numerous times we witnessed gulls swooping down and taking food while lifting forks to take a bite - no joke. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE unless your trip is FREE! Find a truly exclusive hotel that does not allow outside guests, cruise ships or have 'sister' properties using the facilities.
outrageous food prices
lock out of room b/c comp. glick for over 3 hours. Broke foot on coral and mang. refused to compinsate anything. I actually had to walk w/a broken foot all the way to the lobby to speak w/a mang. b/c all 7 times I called I got "she's in a meeting". couldn't eat in a rest. for 3 year aniversary b/c no reservations avail. 7 days prior. Guess you have to make them before you leave for your trip!!! Let too many other guests in other hotels have access to their grounds and therefore room around the pool is too tight. So basically you can save and stay at a surround hotel and still have access to the ATLANTIS grounds for a cheaper vacation. Food is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced in the hotel. Go into town. NOT WORTH IT!!!! Gambling--I played a min. of 5 hours per day and was not comp. even a soda!! What a rip off! Save and the hassel and go somewhere else..................trust me!!!
Not worth the money
Water, rooms, property all great. The second hand smoke was awful! Prepare to walk alot. Take the water taxi to Nassau. Visit the Dolphins @ The Blue Lagoon. Take advantage of the water park. Save up money before you go...it's a nice resort it's gonna cost a bit more than Mc Donalds! The staff was very helpful and friendly...the reviews of people not satisfied must have been rude to the staff?
Beautiful surroundings, bad service
The bathroom curtain was so dirty that when you turned on the shower dirt ran down the drain. Not what you would expect for this hotel. I was charged for using the mini bar when I did not. When I first got there I reported two half bottles of water and liquior missing. Of couse they charged me for it and it took four people and four hours to get it removed from my bill. The mini bar manager even came down and told them to take it off. The front desk clerk reprimaned me for using the refrigerator and told me it was my fault I was charged. Talk about lack of customer service. I would not stay here again and would not recommend the Bahamas Paradise Island as a vacation get away. There are two many beautiful places on this earth that have people that treat you with respect and don't overcharge you to enjoy a nice vacation. I should have listen to the other reviews.
