Fabulous hotel, wonderful location

 by  anonymous  on  2008-08-01

The Embassy Suites was absolutely awesome. It was located right by the falls and in easy walking distance to everything there is to do in Niagara. The staff was wonderful and so very helpful. jhe hostess at the manager's reception even went so far as to get us a map and help with directions to the area attractions. Free Complimentary breakfast - don't expect just cold cereal and a pastry here. There is a complete hot food bar with many choices, fresh fruit, numerous muffins, hot cereal, yogurt, etc. Also a cook-to-order area included at no charge! Every evening there is a manager's reception where there is a whole arrray of snacks and drinks nd even coupons for free drinks at the bar. Super nice way to relax. Plenty of close eating establishments. Housekeeping is awesome. Our room was very nicely furnished, very clean and kept that way through-out our trip. The beds were comfortable. I would defintely stay at the Embassy Suites again.

Fabulous hotel, wonderful location

Front Desk Staff had Horrible Attitudes. We reserved two non-smoking rooms and asked to be placed on the same floor. Upon arrival we were told that same floor rooms were not available. We were placed in smoking rooms on floors 25 and 42. Later we had another guest to inquire about same floor rooms and surprisingly several were available. The front desk staff attitudes STINK and because of this we will NEVER stay at another Embassy Suite Hotel!!!!!!!

Wonderful!

The view from our room of the horseshoe falls was spectacular. The room wa very large with a whirlpool tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast for such a large hotel is held in The Keg restaurant which overlooks the Falls on the 9th floor. The service was very good considering the amount of people coming through.

Great service and Great view but cost is not what it seems. When you tack on the destination promotion fee, the provincial sales tax, and the Federal goods and services tax for ontario you need to add as much as 22% to your total bill. That cost is the same anywhere you go in Niagara Falls, Canada on anything you do. If you have the money it is great but if you are on a budget I would highly recommend that you stay in the US side (be warned that the US side is a national park so not alot of tourist action aside from the casino and the Canada side is total tourist section) and travel into Canada (it cost 3-6 dollars to cross the bridge). Do not buy the tour package offered by the hotel (runs about 300 dollars for 2 people). My wife and I were able to do all the items offered by the hotel for 120 dollars, they try and say the deal is the 10 dollar per person shuttle but you can buy a metro ticket for seven that has stops at every major tourist stop. If you are interested in the tours I will say that the whirlpool and the journey behind the falls tours are completely boring and the butterfly conservatory at 25 dollars apiece is completely overpriced. We had a view of both falls from our room and it was great as well as the jacuzzi tub but will probably not get that next time and the fireplace (if you are looking at that) is just a wall heater with fake flames.

Wonderful!

What a nice hotel! The room was large enough to accomodate a family of 5 without feeling squished. The kids loved the jacuzzi tub & the great view! Nintendo and movies in the room were a big hit too! It was worth the 7 to have them play Pokemon on tv while we unpacked and got organized for an hour. Check in was fast, no problem parking or with the elevators. The pool was perfect. Large enough to have a great swim but not too deep where the kids, all under age 10, had trouble. The hot tubs pool side were roomy as well. Going mid-week, at the very beginning of peak season most likely factored in to the overall experience. It was not too crowded and we received great service. This is not a discount or bargain hotel. We expected to pay a bit as we were on vacation. The Keg restaurant is not cheap but the food was well prepared and ample in portion, the service good, wine list extensive, and we thoroughly enjoyed the view. The staff took care to address specific dietary concerns we had as well and were very accomodating. It was nice to have a drink at the Manager's Reception but don't expect much in the way of snacks. We did bring our own cooler of snacks in to the hotel so the kids would not be starved and antsy if we had to wait in line anywhere - which we did not. It was nice to give them a quick bite before heading to the pool without all the effort required to dress and go out. The bellmen were all very courteous and helpful with info and advice so just ask away (and be sure to tip;0)). We look forward to coming back!

Bad view, poorer service, not recommended

We had been to Niagara 4-5 times previous, but had never stayed at the Embassy Suites. Decided to try it and we couldn't have been more pleased!! Stayed on 37th floor! What a view!!
