Served our purpose

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-07

It seemed as if there were many people at breakfast time, but there was always enough food. They advertised a hot breakfast. There was only cold cereal, bagels, doughnuts and bread. The orange juice was warm and the coffee was lukewarm. However, the staff was really friendly and sent us to three good restaurants within walking distance. We asked for decaf coffee and the night attendant chased some down for us, so we could make coffee in our room. The rooms were large and clean and ours had a couch and chairs. The maids were friendly and co-operative.

stayed a few nights for both business and pleasure, nice big clean rooms and kind staff, breakfast was great, could not have asked for more, best part of hotel is rate and location !

Disappointed

 by  anonymous  on  2008-05-10

Had a very pleasant stay, rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was nice, especially housekeepers. They have a hot waffle breakfast which was great and the business centre is top notch, my only issue was I wish the fitness centre had free wieghts, it only has a few machines. For the rate I paid, could not have asked for more, will stay there again forsure.

I usually stay at another hotel when I come to Toronto/Brampton on business, unfortunately for me, as much business as I have given the other hotel, they overbooked my specific room type (eventhough I booked it) so I checked online to look for a similar and close by hotel, which happened to be the Howard Johnson. They have now earned my business, they upgraded my room for free (to a deluxe suite), when I told them what happened, eventhough they seemed to be full. They have an absolutely amazing business centre, the kind you would expect from a 5 star 1000 room hotel, which helped me out quite a bit, the staff were off the chart when it came to going out of their way to help me when it came to directions, recommendations etc. The suite was obviously very large and Most importantly exceptionally clean. The breakfast was more than you can ask for considering the rate, and the breakfast area was awesome (like a cafe from france). Best of all was the location, very busy area, with lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance which may not be for everyone. Very impressed, still can't believe the rate I paid - look forward to coming back !!!

Disappointed

For the price I paid, this was the best value hotel I have stayed at. Wonderful breakfast, great staff and most importantly BIG comfortable and CLEAN rooms - a million restaurants and shops within walking distance - Will most definately be back when I am in the Toronto area again !

Great Comfy stay

 by  anonymous  on  2008-01-02

I was dissappointed by this hotel. The parking lot was not cleaned-and the first start to my trip was falling on the slippery ice. I was black and blue for the entire week. Room service was not not friendly or customer-oriented. They cleaned on their schedule and were not flexible. The front desk personnel was okay.On New year's eve night- some new customers came to my floor-about 20 teenagers booked into 2 rooms to celebrate the new year. There was screaming, drinking and banging on the walls till morning. I could not sleep. These celebrants should have been put on separate floor. All in all I won't stay there again.
