Fire exit lights don't work. Bedbugs. Worst hotel ever.

 by  anonymous  on  2008-06-27

The power went out and we were left in complete blackness. Felt like I was in a bad B rated movie and a serial killer was about to strike. Restaurant, pool and meeting rooms were closed. Bedbugs bit my husband and the bed was broken. Unsafe part of town. This place should have been condemed by the city. The place was the worst ever. I've stayed in motel 8s that were better.

We went through Canada on our way to our Grandson's birthday in Michigan. The hotel was clean, just blocks from the highway exit, and right on the waterfront. It has a great pub on site, the room was so comfortable we overslept! Twice! It was a little dated & the A/C was a bit noisey but the was a group of kids there for a hockey tournament so a bit of ""white noise"" was good. It was so comfortable we stopped for the night again on the way home, had a great dinner & a romantic stroll along the waterfront. Fabulous deal for the price, will stop again.

Way better than 2 rating

the carpets were dirty, but the staff did move me to a suite. there was no closet and since it was a holiday the restaurant was not open. all restaurants in the town were closed. i would think twice before visiting this place. they could offer no food and it was a long night

Has the feel of an English Hotel and a nice Pub to boot.

My fiance and I stayed here last August. There were large bugs all over the room and the bed was not comfortable at all. We could feel the springs through the mattress. The staff would not give us a different room, or deal with the bug problem. Not worth the price.

We stayed on the recommendation of a friend even though the hotel has only been awarded a 2 rating. We are stunned at why this hotel only has a 2 rating. The rooms are spacious, very clean, comfortable. The hotel has a very good dining room an excellent pool and sauna. There is an attached spa and it is very centrally located for tourists. The service was excellent especially the staff looking after the rooms. The rating should be at the very least a three to reflect what is available at this hotel.
