A lovely hotel in an ideal location. A couple of problems marred the perfection, though. 1) The bed in our room was a Murphy-style bed that could fold...
Oh. My. Goodness. After our first visit to the wonderful Saint Sulpice in February of 2008, we had to return in March of 2009. This delicious boutique...
Went up to Montreal for the G&L Film Festival last year and stayed here. They were one of the sponsoring hotels. This place is fabulous...a boutique hotel...
Best of Old Montreal
Staff was excellent, friendly and attentive - all both fluent in English and French, some even spoke a 3rd language of Spanish or Italian. Loft room was very clean, spacious, well lit, nice sitting area with extra loaded minibar and twice daily maid service. Free bottle water and daily newspaper (English and French versions) provided daily for guests. Location near Old Port great for activities and restaurants. Walking distance to Metro, busline, banks and major attractions. Good boutique type shopping close by. Food room service was good (so was food) and complementary breakfast (* extra for American upgrade) well worth getting up for. Consierge great at booking tours, tickets, restaurant reservations and suggestions for all. An excellent vacation due to the wonderful staff of hotel and beautiful friendly bi-lingual people of Montreal. Highly recommend this hotel and this city and plan on returing to Montreal soon.
Best of Old Montreal
My husband and I enjoyed a four night stay at this excellent hotel. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and most helpful. Reservations for dinner, helpful hints on activities, directions from the hotel.... all of these things were readily provided by various staff members. The room was excellent over looking a courtyard. This is an all suite hotel with rooms in various sizes. Ours was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the bells of the cathedral from our open window. The hotel is centrally located for easy access to St. Paul street of Old Montreal. I couldn't have asked for a better location.
Le St. Sulpice is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Montreal, just behind the Notre Dame Cathedral. Old Montreal is not the best place to bring a car--use taxis or the Metro if you can--but if you rent a car or you are driving there, the valet is quick and courteous. Check-in and the front desk are as pleasant as you'll find in Montreal. The rooms are very good sized, although the one-bedroom suite barely accommodates a queen-size bed. It might be better to forgo the suite and go with a plain room. The suite's living room is good-sized, with a fireplace and a window that opens up to the street. The shops and galleries of Old Montreal are right outside the hotel entrance, and you are only two blocks from the heart of Old Montreal. Overall, a great hotel, especially with the deal you get on Travel website! Compared with the hotel Web site, I got my flight and car for free.
Our family of 4 had a great time. Our room was big & modern. A frosted glass shower ""wall"" separated bathroom from bedroom -strange! Everyone in hotel and city was nice, helpful, and spoke English. Especially enjoyed Old Montreal - hotel's location was key. Behind Notre Dame Cathedral, near shops, restaurants, and port. We were amazed how quiet it was and laugh everytime ""traffic"" backed up behind a horse and carraige. We never heard single car beep (just like NYC). All in all, a very low-key, relaxing, and stressfree city - perfect getaway. Would love a repeat stay.
All rooms are suites and we booked the mid priced suite. The room was super clean, bed was very comfortable ( my husband has back problems and thought the bed was great),bath was first class. we enjoyed a gas fireplace and a view of the courtyard. The location was fantastic - a few doors down from Notre Dame and right in the heart of Old Montreal. We walked everywhere. Great restuarants within walking distance. excellent service. definately recommend to friends and would stay again and again.
