The Empire Hotel Kowloon is in the district of Tsim Sha Tsui, two blocks from the MRT station, and approximately 22 miles from Hong Kong International Airport. This hotel is in the main shopping and commercial area, about a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal and Harbour City or a 15-minute drive to Wong Tai Sin Temple. Nice location
I have stayed in this hotel 3 times in the last 2 years for a total of 18 nites. My wife likes this hotel because it is located in a quiet and secure area in TST and away from the bus stops (air pollution).The hotel is close to MTR, shopping, restaurants. Airport shuttle stops at the hotel.
Nice location
As an international business traveler, I visit Hong Kong roughly 6-times/year. Being self-employed, I try to save money by avoiding the very expensive 5-star hotels (such as the Conrad or Shangri-La hotels). However, I still want to stay at a reasonably nice hotel with decent amenities and service. The Empire Hotel, while not a dump, was a disappointment in this regard. Service was poor (no one to help with my 3-peices of luggage when I checked in). Room quality was suspect (poor lighting, worn carpeting). Breakfast buffet was below average with a poor selection of food. I will not stay here again. There are much nicer hotels in the same price range and in the same general location in Hong Kong.
I think it's been a better hotel than the one I have stayed so far. Room was clean and very nice. The staffs are friendly prompt. I feel like staying in a 6 stars hotel. May be the room is a little small but overall I have a very good experience. Will be back to the hotel very soon.
