Tattered towels, restaurant no longer affiliated w/ hotel--clearly a hotel that's seen better days & is having problems! Despite the travel agency's call to the hotel prior to booking tre: extra charge for a 3rd person in our suite, reception had no record of the call & charged us anyway. The restaurant stopped serving 'included' breakfasts & hotel where guests were sent was unable to accommodate the number of diners. The hour + wait for service was longer than most were willing to wait. Would not recommend to anyone-- lots of San Jose hotels far nicer & less expensive!

We all had a great time there. The casino in the lobby was great for us after seeing the others around town. Located in an area close to most everything we wanted to see and do, but far enough away to safe and quit for sleeping. Hope to stay there again later in 2008. People there were very helpful with everything. Note: let them get you a taxi, cheaper.
Before we left for our trip I called the hotel myself and enquired about transportation from the airport. When we arrived there was a gentlemen with a sign for us. He told us where to meet him after immigration. Never saw him again. Called the hotel and they couildn't find our reservation. When I told them that I had talked to someone they immediately told me to take a taxi and they would pay for it.Even when we checked out they were still searching for our reservation. Do not go out onto the streets at night, is what several locals told us.
The staff is very attentive and friendly, and the room wasn't even expensive. But there were so many details that needed attention, like their non-responsiveness to noise problems, and their restaurant menu needs work with several dishes that were not even close to their descriptions. Even so, with the buffet breakfast and free Wi-Fi included with the room, we'd stay there again but would be sure to request one of the quieter rooms on the back side away from busy Avenida 11.
