Hotel Birke in Kiel on Hasseldieksdamm is a privately run hotel with complete guest-service. The hotel is situated in a convenient location yet surrounded by greenery, only around 10 minutes by car from the centre of the state capital of Kiel. Pleasant woods can be found directly behind the hotel which are just perfect for short or long walks. The thatched farmhouses in vicinity reflect the typical atmosphere of Schleswig-Holstein and convey a rural impression. The charming surrounding country side is ideal for excursions with the hotels bicycles, for jogging or for golfing on the nearby courses. We offer: 82 rooms, equipped with modern, comfortable and pleasant furnishings, all appointed with shower/WC, telephone, radio,TV and minibar. The bathrooms all have a hair-dryer and vanity mirror. Our shuttle-service (no extra-charge) will take you to your company in the Kiel-area if available from monday to friday (7:00 to 11:00 am). The restaurant "Fischers Fritz" will surprise you with regional fresh fish specialities and international cuisine. The restaurant is open every day, expect Sunday, from 5 pm. In the evening our cosy Kaminbar (bar with open fire) is the ideal venue for a fresh draught Pils, a glass of wine or small dishes. A sauna and solarium are available for your health and wellness. Our conference rooms are suitable for business meetings and seminars for up to 20 people and are equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology. For example: In the Original Holsteiner Räucherkate opposite we organize traditional local celebrations with music from the coast, Holstein home smoked ham and schnapps. In addition to tickets for the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and for all cultural events in Kiel, we organise (on request) a corresponding activity program with a shuttle service and an expert guide for independent travellers and tourist parties.
