Everyone's experience and perception is different. Bare in mind yours may differ from ours. Our impression of the front desk was 'okay'. We felt a little more professionalism, enthusiasm and honesty would've improved their rating, but perhaps it was just the timing. When we got to our room, our bellboy couldn't open the door. Finally the cleaning lady arrived and she gave it a hard kick and got the door open. Also, the TV didn't work properly & there was no running water. At this point, we really started to worry. The only real positive aspect about this particular room was the ocean view that we loved. After various maintenance men showed up to check the door, they were unable to fix it, so we ended up with another room on the ground floor where the door and TV worked and there was running water, but sacrificed the view. Can't have it all! (The maintenance part of the resort can be an issue at times). The grounds were very pretty and well maintained. The beach was beautiful, although when we arrived there was a tropical storm that hit DR that caused a lot of wind so we were unable to fully enjoy the beach. The pool area was nice...big and clean. Buffets were offered for breakfast, lunch, dinner. For dinner you also had the option of several specialty restaurants. Food ranged from okay to good, depending on what was being served. If you're used to healthy eating, you won't find much of it here. Most items are cooked or prepared with a lot of fat and oil. Ultimately, if you consider that this resort is in DR and not the States, and keep expectations low, you may be able to enjoy some of the positives it has to offer.

The staff were eager to please, espcially around the pool and during dance lessons and other activities. The beach was gorgeous, and the disco was intimate rather than cavernous, with a romantic candlle-lit area under a tree just outside the casino for star gazing. the bathroom was very luxurious. Food was good quality, prepared with European flair, and deserts were inventive. It was repetitious, however, as even the speciality restaurants serve the same things as the buffet. We had a wonderful time.
