Marriott Palace Beginning to show its age
The Marriott on Gezira Island has two things still going for it...history as a 19th century "palace" and its garden restaurants. Apart from that it could use a facelift. The clientele while I was there had changed from business types to regional family so the ground floor pool was pretty much a childrens venue. Try to stay in a room facing the river rather than the gardens if you need quiet - the palace roof shows open air films in arabic nightly and the gardens have a band playing until after 1am. Watch out for a 12% "service charge" on your room rate! Another tax - 10% sales tax is applied to the 2% city tax (Other hotels wrap these amounts into the up-front rate). The Marriott's river boat, "Maxim" is still one of the best deals on the Nile giving two hours of live entertainment and a three course meal for about *. If you want bottled water, buy from one of the stores just outside the Zamelek Tower - the hotel mark-up is 10 times the normal rate
Marriott Palace Beginning to show its age
The Cairo Marriott was great hotel for a family trip to Egypt. The staff went out of their way for us, with early checkin, and late checkout. They have a good tour desk to help arrange visits to various sights in Cairo. The staff is very kid friendly, too. The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. There is an extensive selection of restaurants in the hotel.
Wonderful hotel
Stayed at this hotel in august for 6 nights. This hotel is not just stunning from the outside but also on the inside. Especially the newly renovated rooms, the service provided was more then excellent. They work 24 hours in pool, health club & some outlets, also the room service, which was great.
It's a good & nice Hotel, we had a very good stay, and i recommend this Hotel to all of my friends,I stayed at this Hotel with my wife and it was first time in Cairo, i did not expect much, but what i've seen is really above my expectation and i will try to go back again whenever possible.
The Cairo Marriott Hotel is a really great place to go, it's the place to go if you are on business, or pleasure.
It was a great stay that we had in this hotel, in the newly renovated rooms, I was not sure if I would like to stay in this hotel till I actually experienced the luxury and the great service from their staff.
