Set at the base of the Great Pyramids, this hotel is set on 40 acres of ornamental gardens, and is situated approximately 22 miles from Cairo International Airport. This is currently the only hotel in Egypt with a golf course. Built as a royal hunting lodge and converted into a hotel in 1869, the Mena House combines original arabesque Islamic architecture with a newer garden wing to create a modern luxury resort. Services and facilities include a swimming pool, five restaurants, same-day laundry and dry-cleaning, 24-hour room service, beauty salon and barber shop, travel desk, car rental, a variety of shops, helipad, library, casino, floodlit tennis courts, mini-gym, and horse and camel riding. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature direct-dial telephones, minibars, and satellite TV.

WOW!

 by  anonymous  on  2006-03-02

Accurately named the ""Palace at the Pyramids"", the view, the accommodations, and the service were suburb. From our balcony we had a spectacular view of two of the pyramids. We dined at two of the many restaurants and were never disappointed. For those visiting Giza to see the sights, add at least one night at this hotel to your ""must do"" list.
