The 82-room, 3-star Best Western Hotel Atlantico is conveniently located in Central Madrid on the busy Gran Via, within walking distance of many shops, the Puerta del Sol and the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museums. Best Western������s European properties are recognized abroad for their quality, which is often superior to that of their US franchises. This property is no different--in fact, the amicable young staff and brightly decorated noise-proof rooms helped the hotel earn the Best Quality Award in 2001, and while it has a 3-star rating it is more of a 4-star in quality. Major Spanish shopping chains like El Corte Ingles and Zara, as well as local shops are just outside the hotel������s front door, as are many restaurants and cultural attractions.Due to its popularity, the hotel is expanding by renovating the upper floors of its building. Guests are nevertheless undisturbed by this as it is limited to only the upper floors that are not yet in use.Unlike many central Madrid hotels, guest rooms here are relatively spacious. Decorated in simple but warm and colorful pastels and often with white furnishings, each air-conditioned room has its own mini-bar, hairdryer, radio, satellite TV, direct dial telephone and safe. Many rooms also look down on the bustling Gran Via below, offering a 24/7 view of Madrileno life.

Perfect vacation.
Excelllent location at Gran Via Avenue, just walking distance (short distance) from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Royal Palace, etc... The hotel was clean, sunny, big corner room (looking toward Callao Plaza), 5th floor. Big bathroom with tub and excellent lightning, excellent heating and aircondition. Two hairdryers (one in room, one in bathroom). Very nice buffet breakfast, value for the price and excellent expresso coffee at your request with no extra charge. The real asset of the hotel is the staff: Oscar, Eduardo, Ruth, Fruto. What ever you need or want, the staff will get it for you: one day tours, taxis, maps, reservations for restaurants, recomendations, tickets, etc. Be sure to visit the 9th floor with free internet, bar and beautiful terrace. Looking forward on going back.

We only stayed for one night on our way back from a honeymoon in the Canary Islands.The hotel itself is beautiful and Room 708 was amazing, with safe included to store your valuables.We received a complimentary drink in the bar and the staff was extrememly friendly. The speak English well.The top floor has an amazing outdoor patio!
Since the Atlantico is part of the Best Western group, we didn't know what to expect. There was only a front desk, no lobby, but the staff were friendly and our room was large, bright and comfortable. Much has been recently and tastefully re-done so it's fresh and clean. There is a great lounge/bar on the roof overlooking the city, but no restaurant except a continental breakfast. Even so, we enjoyed the Hotel Atlantico and would stay there again.
