The City Hotel, Derry is a bright contemporary hotel with a spacious interior. The hotel is ideally situated on the banks of the River Foyle and has wonderful views of the river and the Guild Hall. The hotels 145 executive bedrooms have been designed with the busy traveller in mind and have been finished to a very high standard. Guest facilities include telephone with voice mail, hairdryer, trouser press, iron, tea and coffee making facilities, fax/modem lines, mini bar and interactive TV system. There is free car parking for hotel residents. The hotels leisure centre has a 15m swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, dance studio and gymnasium. The conference centre at the City Hotel offers a range of state of the art meeting rooms each with ISDN lines and a range of audio visual facilities. The City Hotel is situated in the centre of Derry, a lively city with a fine historic background and excellent shopping and entertainment facilities. It is within easy walking distance of all amenities. There are many fine golf courses nearby and the famous links course at Portrush is less than an hours drive. There is a restaurant and bar within the hotel and there are other bars, cafs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The first stop on any trip to Derry must be to the Walls of Derry, a walk around which provides the visitor with a panoramic view of the town and surrounding countryside. Alongside the walls at Union Hall, the Tower Museum traces the history of Derry through multimedia displays. Fine architecture in the town includes the Gothic St Columbs Cathedral, the Guildhall and some fine buildings surrounding the Diamond and in Ship Quay Street.
