If its wall could speak, they would tell of glittering balls and splendid parties, attended by house guests including William Pitt, Lord Tennison, Oscar Wilde and Henry James. Todays distinguished guests can continue the tradition of gracious living in the hotels 45 bedrooms and suites, many named after these famous guests. Opulent yet irresistibly comfortable, some rooms have canopied four poster beds each with its own distinctive character. Soft, restful colours add to the soothing ambience to leave one blissfully relaxed. One can arrive on Christmas Eve for full afternoon tea in the drawing room. One can have cocktails in Cannizaro Bar. One can have a mojito, cosmopolitan or simply champagne followed by dinner, carols, and then Midnight Mass. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served by the fire on ones return. On Christmas Day, one can enjoy a slendid traditional Christmas Day lunch with a visit from Santa. In the evening, the guests can join the team for some relaxing fun with supper and boared games, backgammon, or ones favourite game. The guests can enjoy a jazz brunch on Boxing Day.
