This is a nice hotel. Quiet from the hustle and bustle of the street outside. American-sized rooms. Strange guy in his bathrobe taking the elevator down...

English elegance. Great location. Great service.

This may be the nicest hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The bed linens are of the finest quality available. The maids return to freshen the room at least twice a day. The rooms are equipped with electrical outlets to accomodate plugs from any country in the world, including the USA. Towels are thick and luxurious. Every evening, a maid returns to freshen the guest room and to place a cloth (a beautifully ironed and starched linen mat) next to each side of the bed. The lobby always has an impressive floral display and nice baskets of fresh fruit and Toblerone chocolates for the guests. The location is excellent, right near the Holborn underground station on the Picadilly line (which is the same line that terminates at Heathrow airport. As such, I would advise taking the Subway from and to the hotel, rather than a Taxi. The Underground will cost about 4 pounds, a taxi about 60-80.) The hotel is within 15 minutes ( walk or a short subway ride ) from Soho, Covent Garden, Trafalgar square, the British museum, parliament, Tower of London, London Eye, and many other attractions. The gym in the hotel is nicely equipped and, as far as I could tell, usually unoccupied. My wife and I thought the hotel was a great value, especially because we "paid" for our hotel and airfare with Marriott points. If I had to pay for it, I would advise not eating breakfast in the hotel. It's good, but very expensive. My only complaint: I was surprised that a hotel of this caliber charged 15 pounds a day for in-room internet service (wired).
