Dan Carmel in Haifa was excellent!

 by  anonymous  on  2007-09-30

The Dan Carmel Hotel in Haifa, Israel was an excellent and enjoyable value on our recent trip. The location is superb, at the top of Mt. Carmel and close to the Bahai Gardens and the beautiful area of the German Colony. The hotel has undergone an excellent updating, and our room was outstanding. We had a magnificent view of the Medit. from our balcony, and the business center was excellent. They even hosted a beautiful cocketail buffet every evening from 6 - 10 pm, with enough food for a light supper!I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Dan Carmel in Haifa was excellent!

The overwhelming smell of mold and a constant musty smell first caught my attention as this is supposed to be a very upscale hotel. The service was ok but not great and nobody went out of there way to make you feel welcome.

The grounds and view from the hotel are very nice, but once stepping off of the elevator the mildew smell was overpowering. The door to close the room had to be forced shut & facilities in the room are aged. Hotel does have wireless internet (not free).
