average - central location, family oriented, kosher, poor security
This hotel has a central city location which means the streets are noisy and busy. There are three flights of steps up from the street to the square in front of the hotel unless you walk the long way around the inclined corner to get to it. It is primarily a family oriented kosher hotel that does a lot of business during Shabbat weekends and holidays. Plenty of buses, taxis, restaurants, markets, shops and banking facilities nearby. At times the hotel halls are a bit noisy and busy, especially on weekends. Did not have view of the city although the more expensive rooms on the upper floors do. The entire staff, for the most part, was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are not new, so there is some wear and a lot of dust in the air. Twin beds were a bit hard. Meals were average - breakfast was provided daily at no extra charge. Lunch and dinner are served on Saturdays only. Room kitchen facilities were welcome for preparing meals in the room. Drinking water from the kitchen tap was well iodized and tasted fine. Comfortable bathroom with hand shower, good housekeeping. Clothes washing facilities were an old Italian washer and a newer Italian dryer - acceptable, but a bit slow. Room cooling and heating was okay. TV was a bit old but most of the buttons worked, remote provided. If I were to return, I probably would try another hotel and perhaps in another city less busy than Jerusalem.
