Great Place to stay in Rome

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-25

Traveling with 2 children this hotel was a perfect choice! Great location, walking distance to subway stations and the Vactican. Stuff was extremely helpful, free wet bar restocked daily, choice of pillows, small grocery store right next door. Highly recommended!

Great Place to stay in Rome

Very good hotel if you would like to stay in Vatican City on a budget. Excellent breakfast, helpful staff.

Hotel had the most attentive staff. One person nicer than the other. No problems with language. Location convenient. We took the metro(subway) or walked all over. Area is a working class neighborhood. Weather was approx. 57 degrees and Spring like. Absolutely no lines anywhere. Saved 600-800 dollars per person going in Jan. We absolutely loved the included breakfast buffet. Food expensive for six but excellent, admissions to sites reasonable. We went with four college aged kids, four in one room. Two of us in another room. Rooms clean. Loved the free mini bar/ fridge, good for snacks. Coffee machine a plus. Grocery next door. Take out pizza and Mexican across the street. We stayed 9 nights. Took train to Florence for the day from the termini. Arrived taking the Leonardo express from airport to termini to metro to walk a few blocks to hotel. Returning just took a van straight to airport for 25 Euros more. Went to Ostia Antica by train included in weekly metro pass.

This modest sized hotel is modern chic within a five-minute walk of the Vatican Museum entrance. The hotel is up-to-the-minute modern while retaining the flavor of Rome. The hotel staff was the most courteous and helpful I have ever encountered. They were genuinely concerned that their guests enjoyed their visit to the city without unexpected surprises. It is a five-minute walk to the subway entrance which serves the rest of the city, the Coliseum, the Spanish steps, and the central Metro area. Each night the staff provided recommendations to fine restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The full breakfast provided was complete and included within the price of our rooms, saving us * euro every morning for a family of four. When we departed, a staff member from the hotel guided us to the autostrada entrance in his own car so that we would not get lost in Rome. As I said, the best hotel staff in my experience.
