SERIOUS PRICE GOUGING

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-14

I feel that this hotel is over priced for the accommodation the room rate seems to change based on your willingness to pay more or sold to the highest bidder . The room we stayed in have no elevator access, we had to take the stairs; their is no accommodation for people who cant climb stairs. If you are not in the main tower please do not look outside the trees are badly over grown and you will not be able to see any thing through that forest. The staff were polite and did their best but did not seem to know much about the area they represent. I would only return to this hotel as a last resort.

SERIOUS PRICE GOUGING

 by  anonymous  on  2007-12-31

I made a quick trip to Kingston in December and chose to stay at this hotel for the seond time. It's at a great location, in walking distance to the restaurants and clubs in New Kingston. The rooms are ok. They could do with some upgrading. The housekeeper assigned to the room was very friendly and efficient so it was kept clean. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so-so, I've had better at other hotels. They do make delicious cocktail patties though. I was able to get a discounted rate, so it was worth the price paid. Its not really worth it when they charge more than as you're really only paying for the Hilton name and a bed. They have nightly entertainment by the pool area which is interesting and the bar in their little casino serves great drinks. I also liked the convenience of having transportation to and from the airport. Overall, I probably will stay there again the next time I'm in Kingston.

High Cost/Low Value

 by  anonymous  on  2007-06-07

I was shocked that this was a Hilton property!!!!.....the carpet was dark green and still showed the stains. The bathrooms were from the 60s, cracked tiles, lights out and not well kept......our beds were on blocks, yes cement blocks.....our shower head came flying out the wall as I was taking a shower. We called the front desk and asked the manager to come and see what all was going on and he told us it was not his job.....this was truly a horrible experience....

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THIS HOTEL BUT DONT THINK THERE IS ANY BETTER IN THE NEW KINGSTON AREA

 by  anonymous  on  2006-12-02

I was expecting a Hilton as in Canada and the US but it's not what I got. The lobby and grounds are great the rooms and halls need big reno. The Pool was very dirty but night entertainment was great. The view from our room was amazing left the patio door open and heard dancehall all night from a local sound playing. Way overpriced for what you get.

Not what you expect from a Hilton, needs major renovation, the service is good. Beware coffee is 8 cup in the Lobby, order at Hotel next door nice resturant 1.25 Way OVER PRICED for a circa 1960 Hilton
