Great time at Sandals Grand

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-18

My husband and I spent our 8th wedding anniversary at the Sandals Grand. From the moment we step foot on the resort, we had a wonderful time. There was plenty to drink and eat. To stay the the resort was close to being sold out, it did not appear to be crowed. We were able to just lay out on the beach and RELAX!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food as pretty good although it took FOREVER for it to be ready once you had order. I think the shortest time was 40 mins. The resort was beautiful and we definantly will stay at another Sandals resort in the future. The only bad thing was the shopping. If you are wanting to venture out and shop. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME or money on a taxie. The shopping are that we were taken to was horrible. If you don't want to see the drive through volcano or the twin piston, don't worry about leaving the resort. There is nothing else to see out there.

Great time at Sandals Grand

We were actually there for our Aniversary (5th). I have never stayed or taken an all-inclusive vacation, but I can tell you thats the only way to go. From day one to the very last day, we enjoyed ourselves. The resort has a very open design from the lobby to the rest of the resort. We stayed in a Deluxe Oceanfront Room, and was extremely pleased. The rooms were well appointed, and faced the pool and the ocean, a beautiful way to wake up in the morning. The staff was always willing to answer questions, and to make sure our stay was as perfect as possible. The food in the resturants was awesome, lots to choose from and was prepared and presented excellent. The drinks were nothing but the premium brand, both alcohol and non-alcoholic. The watersports center on the resort was also great, they taught us how to use the Hobbie Cat, and had a good amount of things to do, from snorkeling to learning hour to dive, to just relaxing on the beach. We felt very secure on the resort, no one bothered us (like I heard they do on Jamaica). The local people were great with us, always willing to help, and tell us about their culture and brag about St. Lucia. From what others told me, it was by far the best out of the three Sandals resorts on St. Lucia. We were also very surprised on the different age groups that were there, its not all for the young people, just the young at heart.

Perfect Wedding!

The resort is beautiful, but it definitely wasn't the honeymoon I thought it would be. The staff is unconcerned and super slow. Without our knowledge we were at an all-inclusive resort that wasn't all-inclusive. Unless you book "conceriege" level there is no room service or bar in your room and of course all those rooms were booked once we tried to upgrade. At check-in we were informed that we had missed both informational tours...even though air service is extremely limited and they are completely aware of flight schedules and the super rough ride from the BIG airport. The restaurants are just okay and have strange hours, Jospehine's chocolate shakes were the best treat all week. There is only one pool bar and wait staff around the pool and beach are very limited. The other bar services the whole resort so be prepared to wait for a drink. There are several hot tubs but the only "hot" one is by the lagoon pool. No special treatment for honeymooners as 90% of the guests are on their honeymoons. This Sandals is definitely the best one on the island, I would have been devasted if we had booked the Halycon. We travelled to both others and weren't impressed. **DEFINITES: Sunset pictures by Snapshots (GREAT) and double check your bill when leaving, we had charges that weren't ours.**

Great time at Sandals Grand

I must say we extended our honeymoon and a great time. I have been to other all-inclusives and this by far the best. The staff went out of their way on several occasions for us. The food was great with the few excceptions that it is not what we as americans may be used to. Dirty banana drinks and some other banana drink I HIGHLY recommend, Miami Vices, also very tasty. Josephines..such tasty sweets...Our room was always cleaned in a timely fashion but a few times did not vacuum the floor. Always left ample supplies of towels and washclothes. Activities were great but we did have to wait for snorkeling a couple of days. Explored the resorts and found that most restuarants were good, must make reservations in advanced for LaToc and Kimonos. I would recommend this resort to anyone A+++

Perfect Wedding!

We had a great time at this resort and highly recommend it. If you plan to snorkel or scuba, go to the watersports shack the first day you get there and sign up for as many days as you can reserve. There are limited openings and they fill up fast. We were only able to get two days for scuba and snorkeling in a weeks time even though the resort advertises that you can go everyday. Food portions at the restaurants are small, especially appetizers. For example, an order of cheese sticks is 3 small sticks.

Absolutly the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff was fabulous, we were married here and it was better than we ever imagined. The food was fantastic, lots to choose from, definately check out the jungle canopy tour. Thank You Sandals."
