Views that are outstanding, close to most attractions in Valletta

 by  anonymous  on  2007-08-31

My brother Tony and I booked this hotel because it was in a good location to where we wanted to travel. What we didn't know was it was out standing. We checked in at night and went staight to sleep because of the travelling we did to get there. When we came down from the room to the main restaurant seating area we were given the most amazing view of the old harbour. For the next two weeks we were given a wonderful show of fireworks, cruise ships, and miltitary ships pass right before our view. Big plus there. The location of the hotel we were able to tour all around Valletta and hadeasy access to the buses. You have to take the buses, you see more. The food was good by most standards. Not a destination for food, but a good start to a day of walking about. The history of this hotel is not well presented to the guests. In talking to the Manager we leaarned this hotel was built in the 1600's. It was a Gentleman's hotel in the begining, however not much is know beyond that. I suggest they open up some of the lesser know areas in the hotel and shout out the true history. If you are looking for 5 star accomondations I do not suggest you stay here. 3 star at bests, but it is very clean and comfortable. I plan on staying here in the future.
