I do not recommend this hotel!
1st time was a mistake, 2nd time was a disaster! Online travel website has the wrong address listed, we drove & couldn't find the place. The place itself is awesome! Pool area, kids pool park, & the beach are very nice. But their service is very poor, we were very disapointed. The only people that are attentive & the ones you have to tip. The rooms are nice, we had the suite & it has a kitchen. The location is good, about 20 minutes from downtown & close to the airport. There's a Walmart & Costco near by. I didn't like their Check in/out policy, check in is until 5PM, & check out is 10AM, & if you go over any extra minutes after 10am they will charge you for a full night. Our vehicle was at the valet parking & was crashed by another guests vehicle while their employee was driving it. . It took them 5 days to give us all the information needed. They gave us the run around and didn't want to coperate with us. At the end we didn't even get an apology none the less any discount or offers. The place itself is wonderful, it's very unfortunate that they have no skills to run a place like that.
I do not recommend this hotel!
The hotel was wonderful. The suite was so large and could comfortably fit 6. The kitchenette is perfect and supplies everything and stores are a short trip away. The restaurants suprised me by the quality of food - it was great. The Italian one at the Sea Garden is a must. In-roof safe is great tool. Would definately stay again - a nice and less crowded alternative to staying downtown on the Bay.
Luxury Visit
We own at Mayan Palace and had a chance to stay at the Grand Mayan for a few extra dollars. I have to say that Acapulco is one of the nicer Mayan resort properties. The outdoor lobby is spectacular, the pool was beautiful and the resort had many nice amenities like the restaurants, bars, disco and Internet cafe.Positives: The pool is great with lots of room to splash and it overlooked the beach. The beach is beautiful--warm water and only waist deep for several yards out. Most of the staff were very courteous, friendly and very helpful. Neutral: The restaurants are good with a nice variety of food but it is fairly expensive compared to the restaurants in town. The resort location is close to the airport but is over thirty minutes from downtown Acapulco and the nightlife. The rooms are very nice but the beds are rock hard.Negatives: Stay away from the salesmen--they are sharks waiting to take your money. About half the staff do not speak English and we found it difficult to communicate with some of them.Overall, we had a very nice vacation at the resort. We will most likely return in the future
The hotel is much nicer than the pictures. Clean environment, Food quality needs improvement.
I went here by myself and did have a good time. There were many activities to keep me busy and PLENTY of space at the different pools and beach to relax. The lobby and restaurants are beautiful. The food is okay. I would stay again with family, but think if you are trying to plan a family vacation - this is a good place. There is a fun, little water park and a Kids Club.
When you leave your room and go the to elevator, you are treated to a wonderful view of all the great things to do and see at the Grand Mayan. Our tour drive called this area ""the new Acapulco"". It is beautiful and very safe.
