The Presidente InterContinental Ixtapa is an all-inclusive resort located on Palmar Bay along a stretch of Pacific coastline known as the Costa Dorada (Golden Coast), and set against the lush backdrop of the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. In addition to swimming in the beautiful, palm-graced pool and walking the lengthy stretch of beach, the hotel offers an array of daily activities. Work on your serve, volley and return on the tennis courts. Sign up for Spanish language, cooking and bar lessons, or play a game of bingo. Get fit in aerobics classes or compete in the games and contests that run all day long. The all-inclusive plan includes accommodations, all meals and drinks, tips and a wide range of recreational facilities, entertainment and activities. The hotel features six distinct dining options--the pleasant Frutas y Flores, the seaside La Isla Restaurant and Bar, the poolside Cana Brava snack bar, the gourmet La Terraza, outdoor eating at El Patio and snacks at the Deli. Guests can also dine in the privacy of their own room and order room service, available 24 hours a day. In addition, the hotel hosts three theme parties each week. Drinks are available at the Pool Bar, the Lobby Bar and the Daiquiri Factory on the beach. While you relax, the free Chiqui Club programs ensure that your children (ages 6-12) are being looked after and entertained. To learn more about Mexican culture, kids are taught basic Spanish and authentic Mexican songs and dances in addition to playing Mexican games. Kids create and paint their own Mexican handicrafts and are taught how to make pinatas. Other hotel facilities and services include a business center and gym.

Not what I expected for the name...

 by  anonymous  on  2008-05-07

We were leaving a mediocre resort looking for someplace really nice to spend our last 2 nights. We have stayed at other Presidente Intercontinentals and were hoping for something cleaner, classier, and well, frankly, special. The rooms were small, beds uncomfortable, pool small and shallow, food bland, and staff listless. I can't really come up with something BAD but nothing was remarkable in any way. For the price, I am sure we could have found something better.

Not what I expected for the name...

Have been all over Mexico. This is the pitts. They advertise 6 restaurants, they don't say only 1 restaurant is open daily! The food was cold, same food everyday. While there, it rained no activities! Nothing to do! Won't go back

Paradise

 by  anonymous  on  2007-09-09

After reading so many negative reviews on this hotel I was thrilled to find a picture perfect holiday spot. The rooms are very clean, the maid service was great. Yes, they could use a little update, but for us not bad. The food was delicious, a little boring on the evening buffet but tasty none the less. The staff is awesome! Friendly, helpful, and did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant. The bar staff kept our drink glasses full, no matter where we were sitting, and believe me the drinks are not watered down! For * dollars US you could have food and drinks delivered to your room anytime night or day. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

The rooms need serious, quality renovation. The tile flooring looked horrible - all fixtures - lighting & bath, looked very old and dirty. There were no in-room safes. The food was very mediocre - the only restaurant that was good was the one meal we had ay La Terazza.. I would not recommend this hotel.

Did not have all the resturants to choose from, the pool was VERY DIRTY, this should be a family ONLY resort as they stay and eat free, pool smelled bad, watched 2 woman change baby's diapers in pool and wash them in pool. Place smelled bad not clean.

We are Platinum Members and stay with Holiday inn whenever we can. We have stayed at this hotel 24+ times and love most everything about it! They could do with a few more ""perks"" for returning guests but the food and staff are exellent! We will be back for a surprise ttrip for my wife's birthday November 18! I can't wait! Ian Booth
