good times
We had a very nice time. It would be difficult to be bored here with all the activities and things going on. Be prepared to do alot of walking and stairs- it is a large complex. Take tennis lessons if you like tennis, there is a great instuctor for free. There is a spa you can go to for free. Take the boat ride on the canals. Go to the salt water pool to relax, there is a bar there and it is less busy, and beautiful.
good times
We had stayed at another all-inclusive resort in another country the year before and I was not expecting too much when we signed up for this. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. Tons of stuff to do. The food in the main buffet was awesome!!! Very good made-to-order omelettes. Fresh grilled meats (chicken, beef, mahi mahi, salmon) during lunch and dinner. They could have used an extra person on the vacant grill though, cause the wait was pretty long sometimes. The bars actually served good alcohol (Bacardi Rum, Jim Bean, etc.. everything but the tequila). The restaurants were okay. Out of the 3 we went to (La Adelita, Bamboo, Rodizio). We liked the Rodizio the best. Expect to spend some time there because the servers seemed to be understaffed. The grounds looked very nice and were kept very clean. The beach was very windy and very rocky (be careful entering the water!). There were plenty of chairs and shade on the beach. The beach was better in front of the Colonial, but it was much quieter in front of the Riviera. The snack bar by the beach had some good tacos and quesadillas 24 hours. Definitely check that place out.The main problem we had was with the layout of the resort. It took forever to get anywhere. Because of the moat, you had to walk up and down two sets of stairs just to get from the lobby to the beach or your room. If you had to get back from the Colonial Lobby you had to take the shuttle and at night its always crowded and it takes forever. I would come back here, but I would stay at the White Sands or the Colonial because they are right in the middle of everything.
This is a great place to relax. Nothing like Cancun so not much partying going on here. The hotel is HUGE, you have a bit of a walk to your room but it was okay since we stuffed ourselves with the buffets! I definetly recommend dinning at the the Brazilian restaurant in the other hotel. So good!!! It was pretty cool to be able to see and eat at the other hotels that they are connected too. (Colonia, Kanteneya, and white sands) It is a very popular spot for people from Spain and France. We were there at the end of June and it was not very crowded. I would recommend this hotel!
