I visited Barcelo because a family member got married there. I usually don't stay that south of P.V. The hotel is very secluded. It is very pretty but the service was really bad. The food was not good either. When ever we would ask the waiter for something they would give us a look when at other hotels I have been to in P.V. service is great. The good thing about this hotel are the rooms (they are awesome) and the swimming pools. The beach is very small and the activities at the hotel are almost non-existant. Would I stay here again? probably not. I like staying closer North by the airport where I can walk around P.V. They had really bad service and the people who worked their were not very friendly like at other hotels.

I traveled with myself and two other adults in my family. We stayed for four nights and five days and had the best vacation ever. The staff is wonderful, they all spoke English well, and did whatever it took to make us happy (which wasn't a lot, the place itself was spectacular). There were lots of fun events planned every day for the guests, from Mexican bingo, water volleyball, water aerobics, darts, a 70's and 80's dance party, and even a circus one night. All free entertainment! The food was great and there were plenty of options - even many American dishes with a slight Mexico twist. There were lots of fresh fruits and veggies too for health nuts like myself. The drinks were great too! :) I met someone here that has been coming back each year for years, and I could do the same!

we've been to puerto vallarta so many times and stayed on different hotels - heard of mismalloya before and told my wife land kids et's try it - caused I always said to myself to see is to believe this is the third BARCELO hotel we have experienced and so far - one of the best hotel all inclusive we been. maybe other traveller are just having a bad days and didnt get what they wanted - but for us most of the staff are friendly and very helpful - we were treated like we are very special - maybe its how we carry our self with them. from reservation to buffet and fine dining - even if we didn't have any reservation on their fine dining they still took us in and served us with a smile. most of the staff remembers us from the first day we checked in and from the days we checked out. my four teenage boys and their friends was well taken care of by the staff. there is only one issue - the nite life seems to be short most of the live band only performs for one hour and they leave at 11PM and as far the DJ's there is none after the live band leave the premesis. the hotel management should do something to improve the nite life since some of us the party begins at 10PM until 2AM at least. some of us like's to stay in the hotel and party for convinience and take advantage of the all inclusive drinks and food and after hit the room for another day of party and good times. but all in all it is one of the best hotel around PUERTO VALLARTA we will be back.

worth it values for the cost of the trip - we cant ask for more - staff are friendly and helpful - you got to be positive to have a better trip and good times - always remember you are there to have a good time - dont let one little issues ruin your vacation - we us a family when we travel we make sure the staff and anyone around us understand that we are to be pleased as to the best of their ability nothing more. were not there to give the staff a hardtime or be picky - we were there to have a good time and that's what we did. here's the deal as long as i get up in the morning after partying and enjoying myself - and i dont have to cook and the same goes with lunch and dinner and i dont have to clean after - i call that heaven. we were there to have a great times and went all over puerto vallarta to enjoy ourselves. from canopy trip, boating tour to almost everything we can handle ourselves. we even brought our own especial drinks (cognac and napa valley wine) and other games to keep us busy. we just dont rely on the staff - we want it to be us - our own memory of our good times of our vacation us a family no one else. please dont be picky and have attitude issues just be yourself and enjoy your vacation and have a great time. this is one of the best place to enjoy - except the nite life - management needs to do something about it - like us we would to just to be in the hotel and take advantage of the all inclusive.

We stayed at the "Barcelo" for 4 days and 3 night which was for sure not long enough! The drive to the hotel is a little crazy like everyone else said it is about 30 to 45 mins from the airport the ride was fun and kinda thrilling! So much to see in such little time! We got to the hotel early evening on the 10th of May little did we know that it was Mother's day in Mexico so we couldn't get reservations for dinner which was just fine with us we kind of expected. The buffet had a wonderful view and pretty good food too I loved the fresh fruit everyday! Our room was MORE THAN WE COULD HAVE EVER ASK FOR! We got a grand master suite on the 8th floor in the tower on the right which gave us premium wraist bands which paid for them selfs. It has a foyer/seating area, guest bath, diningroom/wetbar, living room, huge wrap around balcony that you get the full view from EVERY direction the ocean the condos, the pool, the jungle, everything!!! Our expericence with waitress/waiters/bartenders/maids was awesome they were always smiling and happy to help. We also tipped as much as we could and the look on their faces when they get a tip makes you feel really great! Trust me it is important to tip they don't make near as much as our servers here in the USA. The food was pretty good as a whole we ate at the buffet every morning at the closest table by the ocean the food was great a few things wee just okay or differnt. Capri Resterant which was excellent service, food & Los Arcos was great also. Drinks we yummy to. Thanks Barcel 4 a great honeymoon!
Fantastic getaway!
I had high hopes for this hotel but some reservations based on previous reviews. Unfortunately my worries became reality. We did get a remodeled room, but beyond that the hotel was terrible. The pool was just ok, the chairs were very uncomfortable, & they played Johnny Cash or Bingo over the speakers (when in Mexico, play Mexican music!). Other than the room the entire hotel is outdated. The staff was unfriendly and quick to get on with their business - speaking english seemed a true bother to them. I asked for a room with a nice ocean view so I could potentially propose on the balcony over room service and some wine. We were given the furthest room from the water & room service is an additional 13 charge. We had to eat off the premises the first night because we they don't take reservations after 3:00 - we checked in at 3:10 and no one informed us. It turned out to be a blessing as the food at the hotel was of poor quality and poor variety. The location is far south of everything so we spent a lot of money on cab rides. Only bonus is it's close to "Le Kliff" restaurant which I recommend to all. I will give an example wihich sumes our entire stay: After the 2nd day we left a note asking for clean towels and thus left the towels on the floor. When we returned to the room we saw 2 towels neatly folded on the rack. I had suspicions so before we left I drew a pen line on the tags of the towels. Sure enough the old towels were the ones on the rack - they picked them off the floor and hung them up!
