Trip to remember
We just came back from a 7 day 6 night at the resort. We loved it. It was our first time doing all inclusive and since it was not on the Cancun strip we were a little nervous about it but we did not need to worry at all. From the minute we arrived to the hotel till the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. Their food was small servings but you can always order more and their drinks were great especially from the pool bar. The pool was warm, the beach water was warm. You don't need to bring your own towels because they provide beach towels during the day and plenty of towels in the rooms. We were looking to get away from the city life and just to relaxed and that was exactly what the resort did for us. I highly recommend this resort if you are looking to get away from it all. If you are looking for night life, this will not be the place for you although their night shows were very entertaining and so was the food provided with the show. We can't wait to back to this hotel again in the future.

Beautiful resort--food was really good (even the buffet!!). I am pretty picky and every spot we went to had something I could enjoy. The staff was friendly (but not TOO friendly) and if you said "No" to an activity, they didn't push you to participate. We had a hypnotist the last night performing and he was FANTASTIC. I really wouldn't have believed it had I not been in the room to see it. It was a fun treat. Parasailing on the beach right outside the resort was * more than at the hotel, but we were able to go right from the resort and didn't have to take a bus to spend all day to parasail 15 minutes with the hotel. Definately something to consider.
Not really a paradise...
the pro's outweigh the cons by far. All inclusive is good, but tips go a long way, bring a wad of ones. Go on the zip line excursion. Ignore anybody in the airport, workers will front like they're your transportation company, they are timeshare sellers. Walk outside of airport for your shuttle ride or taxi. Resturaunts were all good, the Himitsu the best, good menue, great Hibatchi experience. Activities and festivals were entertaining. Beach was beautiful. Dress attire is nice in the resort, and fairly conservative on the beach. No topless sunbathing allowed, although we saw two. Topshelf drinks, good food, you could pretty much have steak&lobster every night for dinner if you wanted. Room service is 24hrs a day. Staff is very friendly, most are bilingual (w/some help) and are willing to teach you some spanish if you ask. They have a few tables set up in the evening where you can buy handmade merchandise. Remember to barter, they start prices up extremely high for you to break them down. Don't waste any money in the gift shops, (overpriced). Pool tables in game room are doable for nonpro's but need some work. My new wife and I learned to Salsa Dance while we were there, which they offer an evening lesson almost daily which was a lot of fun. all in all, a great time. Oh, bring some good sun tan lotion, or you Will get burned.

As soon as we walked in, we were blown away; champagne on arrival, cool towel, and excellent service. We came for our 15th anniversary and loved every minute of the trip. It was definitely worth what we paid, and didn't want to leave. The food was good, some portions were small, but with 24/7 room service you can always eat again. They drinks are a little on the weak side, depending on who makes them, but if you ask for top shelf you will get it. There is nightly entertainment at the hotel so it was nice to always have something to do. We will definitely visit here again or another Secrets. Well worth every penny!!
Not really a paradise...
Let me say that, We were very impressed with the hotel, room, food, service, beach, and staff. This resort is geared for honeymoon / romantic getaway, it was awesome. If you want a shot slammin party hotel please go somewhere else, so the rest of us can enjoy a wonderful relaxing resort. The food was above my expectations, it was really good. The only complaint that I have is the tour company that was set up in the lobby. Make sure you check prices of similar tours before you book with Olympus tours. I feel like we were ripped off on the price of excursions from this company and I am filing a formal complaint. This was not the fault of the hotel at all. Book this hotel with confidence, you will not be disappointed.
Secrets Capri is paradise
Stayed between 7/5 and 7/12/2008. This hotel has a first come first serve system for dining in all their restuarants. They do not accept reservations. They take your name and hand you a pager. The average waiting time for dining was 45 minutes. In some cases (3 times during the week) the restaurants run out of pagers and the wait was well over 1 hour. After finally geting seated waiting for your meal took an unusual long time. The two beach restaurants (Oceana and Seaside grill) were the most difficult to dine in. Oceana has 11 tables total and had the longest wait for dining. The Seaside grill had no air conditioning (just ceiling fans) and dining inside was intolerable. Both my girlfirend and I suffered food poisoning 3 different times during the week which makes me doubt the cleanliness of the food. Other than evening dining (that was a disaster), the rooms are beautiful, the beach is very well maintained and clean, the business center and gym are both great. Overall, I value my dining experience in an all inclusive hotel very highly and would therefore not return to this hotel.
