Amsterdam 06
First they couldn't find our reservation, then they put our kids on the opposite side of the hotel. When a lightbulb burned out, it took three calls to the front desk to get it fixed. It was not a great hotel for the money.
The best feature of this hotel is I think is the most important when you travel is location. It's in the center of the city close to Dam Square and Leidseplein (where nightlife thrives with tons of restaurants and bars). The hotel is also location in the restaurant row and has some of the best restaurants right across the street. I can't say anything bad about my experience at this hotel except that the bathroom was too small for me.
A good all round choice, the staff were very good, the cost of its vending machines is a ripoff, but plenty of cafe's all around it, a specially good one is Berties Broodje on the opposite side of the block from the bakery- great fresh sandwiches
Loved the hotel and the service. We stayed for seven nights in 04/06. Close to everything. Loved both Italian and Dutch eateries across the street. The next door bakery was a treat as well. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Room was small but very clean. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
