Amenities
Hotel Bora Bora is situated at Point Raititi on the edge of the lagoon with views of the ocean, the reef, and imposing volcanic vistas dominated by the haunting, cloud-wreathed Mt Otemanu (mountain of the bird). The resort originally opened in 1961 and was acquired by Amanresorts in 1989 and renovated 1999. Major airlines service Papeete from Los Angeles, which is only eight-and-a-half hours away, while Auckland and Tokyo both have direct flights. Bora Bora is a 45-minute flight from Papeete. The local airport is on the Motu Motu islet jutting into the coral reef of the lagoon. A private launch brings guests to Hotel Bora Bora. The 20-minute transfer is complimentary and a VIP airport express service is also available on request.
