Set high in the foothills overlooking Tucson and warmed by an abundance of desert sunshine, Westward Look Resort is set in an environment inspired by the beauty of its pristine natural surroundings. The decor is a blend of the Spanish colonial, Mexican, and Native American influences that are part of this area's rich cultural history. The resort grew around a 1912 homestead estate built just six months after Arizona became a state. In fact, the family living room is just off the lobby and features the original hardwood floor, stone hearth, wrought-iron chandeliers, and ocotillo-ribbed ceiling.Home to a large variety of birds, plants and wildlife, this lush 80-acre oasis is an inspiring setting. Westward Look Resort combines world-class facilities, gourmet dining, and spa treatments in a natural setting. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy onsite horseback riding, hiking, biking, birding, tennis, and swimming, plus nearby golf. Mobil Four-Star dining is accented with native produce grown in the Chef's Garden. The Lookout Bar and Grille offers more casual fare, plus live music on the weekend. Healing spa therapies feature regional desert botanicals. Nature trails, a desert gallery, and even a telescope for viewing Tucson's famous night skies enhance the enjoyment of this rare ecosystem.Southwestern-style guest accommodations at Westward Look Resort are spacious and serene, each with its own balcony or patio offering spectacular views of the mountains, desert, sunset, or city lights. Suite-sized accommodations also feature bedroom and sitting areas, generous bathrooms, and dressing areas.

We find that Tucson hotels are such great deals during the summer. We went for a romantic getaway and enjoyed all the peaceful gardens and places to explore. We ate in the Gold Room and it was pretty overpriced, but there was a 3 course earlybird special for 29 (only on request) that was a great value. Breakfast, drinks, etc. all very expensive. I got a pomegranate scrub at the spa, and it was lovely but again, quite pricey. All in all, it was a great experience, but be prepared to keep spending after you get there if you want to stay on the property. There are three pools (really two) and a hot tub that is separate. Security is great- there are staff in golf carts keeping an eye on the property all night. Very relaxing. I would definitely like to live there.

The views around the hotel are spectacular and the staff was extremely accomodating, Our room was spacious and very clean. They are in the process of updating the rooms and ours had not yet been done so it can only get better. The food and drinks were great and the grounds were immaculate.

Our family has stayed at this resort every Labor Day weekend for the past 5 years. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the pool is clean and a joy to use. The family package, complete with kids food and activities, was exceptional. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We have consistently experienced a quality resort at the Westward Look and will return again.

I HAVE STAYED HERE SINCE 1986, AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. IT IS THE BEST VALUE IN ARIZONA. THE PLACE IS CLEAN, SOLICITIOUS, QUIET, GOOD FOOD AND CENTRAL TO ATTRACTIONS. I WILL CONTINUE TO STAY HERE WHEN I VISIT SOUTHERN ARIZONA.

My room was large and spacious. I enjoyed the ambiance of the setting of the hotel. Would definitely recommend.

 by  anonymous  on  2007-04-02

This hotel has beautifully manicured grounds, excellent customer service, quality dining, and spacious rooms - all at a very reasonable price for a full-service resort. I''ll stay there again when I'm back in Tucson!
